The family also wants an injunction against possible fines of $2,000 per day for any violations stemming from the dilapidated building and monetary relief in an amount that hasn't been disclosed. Stanton says the Lim family wants the ordinance protecting the building from demolition declared invalid. "They said that we needed to take action if we wanted to get something. "And since that time, we've been unable to reach any conclusion or any agreement at all about what can be done," says Stanton. ![]() Now the Lim family says the city has forced responsibility of this unsafe building onto their hands. The family's crew worked under the direction of the DSD on the partial demolition of the two-story portion of the Whitt building until a beam meant to be preserved collapsed and halted work.
